2018 General Motors Build
Thank you to our sponsor General Motors for being a 2018 whole-home sponsor. It is partnerships like these that make it possible for families in need to build and buy homes through the Habitat Homeownership program.
We are excited to welcome Abigail Thacker to our homeownership program.
Miss Thacker was born at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and grew up, along with one sister, in Franklin. Her mother and father were small business owners and purchased a family home where she was raised.
Miss Thacker lives in Columbia and works for Aveda Institute in Cool Springs as a retail advisor. Abigail’s current rental home is infested with insects and has mold growth from a water leak that was never properly repaired. In addition to those nuisances, the home is listed for sale. “People are continually coming to look at the property, and we often have to leave to allow potential buyers to walk through our home. It’s very uncomfortable. I have have been looking for a more stable situation for quite some time for me and my daughter, Kamiyah, but never dreamed we would be able to buy a home. I was thrilled to learn about this homeownership program through Habitat for Humanity and when I received the call relaying our acceptance, I burst into tears of joy!”
Thank you, General Motors!
