2018 Nissan Build
Since 2006, Nissan North America has partnered to sponsor and volunteer-build a home in Williamson County for a hard-working family. This year marks the 12th home Nissan has built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury.
Funding for the Fleming home is part of the $1.5 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International that Nissan announced in September 2012. In the Americas, Nissan will fund the construction of homes in Arizona, California, Michigan, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and Toronto, Canada.
The Nissan-sponsored Habitat home is equipped with many “green living” features, including low-flowing plumbing fixtures, programmable thermostats, energy-efficient fluorescent lighting, high-performance windows and ENERGY STAR® appliances. These eco-friendly amenities align with Nissan’s Green Program, which supports efforts to reduce the company’s impact on the environment.
Our thanks to our partner Nissan and the over 200 volunteers who donate their time each year to build with us!
We are excited to welcome Debbie Fleming to our homeownership program.
Debbie, the middle child of five, was raised by hardworking parents in Columbia, TN. Her father worked in construction, and her mother was in healthcare services. “Though my parents worked hard all their lives, they were never able to buy a home, so I recognize what a blessing it is to have the opportunity to purchase my own home!”
For the past six years, Debbie has worked as a machine operator for IB Tech, the company that manufactures seat adjusters for Nissan, and it just so happens that Nissan is the sponsor of Debbie’s home! As a woman of faith, she says she believes that everything is coming together as planned and in the Lord’s time.
Debbie wants to thank Nissan North America for sponsoring her home build and looks forward to personally thanking every volunteer on the build site. “I thank God every day for this opportunity to buy my home and plan to continue to be a ‘doer’ and a ‘giver’ to pay it forward however I am able.”
Thank you to Nissan!
