2019 Fall Home Builders Blitz
Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz is a partnership between Habitat affiliates and the building community to build and renovate homes across the United States, helping to fulfill Habitat’s vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” This type of build began in 2002 in Wake Forest, NC and since then has resulted in more than 1,000 safe, affordable homes across the country.
Builders and Habitat affiliates work closely to organize all aspects of building, including securing subcontractors and suppliers, fundraising and seeking donations of materials. Habitat Williamson-Maury’s 2019 Fall Home Builders Blitz will be completed by local homebuilders, contractors, and volunteers.
We are excited to welcome the Johnson Family to our homeownership program.
Yolanda has five beautiful girls, Jamaria (17), Jacariyah (6), Jaceriah (6), Jamaya (4), and Faith (2), and has lived in Franklin her entire life. When she heard that Habitat was building in Williamson County, she almost cried. “I immediately submitted an application,” she notes. “I want to raise my daughters around my family. With the rising prices in the area, that was slowly becoming less of an option. I don’t want to sacrifice the safety of my girls for lower rent. I’m so grateful that Habitat has selected to work with me, and we are looking forward to having a place that we can call home. My biggest hope is that a stable home will help my girls go after their dreams.”
