Volunteer Opportunities
Construction
Ready to roll up your sleeves and build a home with us? While our sponsors provide most of our workforce on the job sites, we always need volunteer Crew Leaders! These volunteers assist our construction manager in leading volunteers, answering questions, and ensuring work is being done properly and safely.
-
All volunteers on the work site must be 16 years old or older – no exceptions due to Federal Labor Laws. Volunteers 16-17 years old are allowed to participate in construction, but cannot get on the roof or operate power tools. They must have one adult supervisor over 21 per 4 youths.
-
No experience is necessary; our trained Crew Leaders will provide education on the build site! But don’t worry, safety is our top priority. Check out our Safety Handbook to learn more.
-
We build rain or shine! Please dress accordingly. We provide all tools and safety gear. Our typical work day is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or project completion (whichever comes first).
ReStore
When most people think about volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, they picture power tools and paintbrushes.
Sure, construction is the most visible part of our mission, but we have so many more ways individuals and groups can give their time and support.
Serving at our ReStore is another way you can help!
We can use volunteers in several areas:
Loading and unloading merchandise
Assisting with donation pickups
Helping with deconstruction projects
Cleaning and preparing merchandise for sale
Maintaining a clean store
Providing friendly customer service
Committees
Committees collaborate with our staff to help further the mission of Habitat for Humanity in various departments.
-
This committee oversees the construction of a Habitat home to be sure that the home meets Habitat and local guidelines for housing. They also oversee new subdivision development and locate affordable properties for the construction of new homes.
-
Development committee members help to identify potential sponsors and solicit funds from foundations, corporations, community organizations, and individuals.
-
This committee provides oversight of the financial matters of the affiliate, including the affiliate’s financial health, budgeting, and financial policy and procedures. It is also responsible for aiding the affiliate in administration matters such as HR, IT, etc. as needed.
-
This committee works hand-in-hand with applicants and staff to guide our future homeowners through the Homeownership Program. They support the homeowners by providing education and helping to ensure they meet their “sweat equity” requirements.
-
This committee meets monthly to help guide the affiliate in marketing, public relations, and planning our outreach and fundraising events.
Other Opportunities
-
If you feel like your skills are more suited for the indoors, on occasion we will need volunteers to help us stay organized and ahead of the game at our administrative office. These tasks include filing, data entry, and organization. This is a great avenue to put in a few hours each week.
-
We like to make sure our build volunteers are happy and well-fed. We ask that our meal sponsors are able to feed up to 35 people.
Breakfast snacks: (to be served by 7:00 a.m.)

We love being a part of community events! Take a shift at one of our booths to pass out flyers, engage with attendees, and spread the word about our mission.
